Prologue

We're the old ones. Sworn to secrecy of the past realms, for daylight we never see. Or, at least, not after our undecidable change. The name you know us by is "Vampires". Not a sensible name, but we get used to it. There are different names, for instance; Creatures of the Night, Monsters of Darkness, and the Undead. As I said before we prefer the term old ones. Well, getting on, out of deep thought (about a one hundred year period of thought) I have decided to tell my tale. Hopefully you've heard of Louis and his book Interview With A Vampire, or perhaps Lestat with his series. Well, I'm Karen. I've lived for a sum of two hundred and fifty-nine years. It all started in 1740 years and years ago.....
